Relaxation is a term that not many of us get to experience on a regular basis. With all of the daily tasks of life, work, parenting and the million other things to do in your day the last thing on your mind probably isn’t relaxation. Relaxation might be something that you would like to have added to your busy schedule but then something else pops up and your mind has wondered to one of the million other things that you need to do. The realization is that we all need to relax; no matter what we need to do to find that sense of relaxation, it is an important part in keeping your mind, body and sanity clear and calm.
There are many different things that you can do to relax and each person may find different things relaxing. Here are 10 things that you can try to help you relax.
- Read a book
- Get a massage or Facial
- Take a yoga class
- Enjoy a glass of wine or sip some hot tea
- Lay in the sun (with SPF of course!)
- Listen to music
- Engage in a craft or project
- Write (anything, whatever comes to mind)
- Take a walk
Some of the things listed above may appeal to you, and some may not. It’s ok to try new things, or keep doing what you love. The point of relaxing is to give yourself a break from the things that keep your mind and body moving at a million miles a minute. It’s okay to step back and slow down, even if it’s just for 5 minutes a day (although we think you deserve more). Taking time for yourself is important for you and those around you. So go ahead and take some time to relax.
