At the mouth of Cold Water Canyon, beneath the towering Santa Ana Range, Glen Ivy Hot Springs lies sheltered by the mountains and open to the sky. Water flows from deep in the earth into this natural sanctuary, as it has for countless generations. The first commercial use of the mineral springs can be traced back to 1860, and for more than 150 years Glen Ivy Hot Springs has attracted people who seek the benefits of nature, water and exercise, the pleasures of good food and camaraderie with others – the relaxation, renewal, and deep sense of well-being a day at the hot springs can bring.

Welcome to Glen Ivy

With spacious outdoor pools and a year-round temperate climate, every visit is an opportunity to rediscover a connection with oneself, with each other, and with the world around. Stretching across 12 acres of lush gardens, the Hot Springs also features California’s only therapeutic red clay mineral mud bath, aptly named Club Mud and The Grotto, a full body moisturizing treatment underground, an experience not to be missed. Café Solé serves a healthy selection of spa cuisine prepared under the artful direction of Glen Ivy’s own Executive Chef Micah Severeid. Guests may also enjoy an extensive menu of treatments and therapies including a massage in our unique outdoor Under the Oaks area. Whether it’s a soothing soak in the mineral baths, or a special day to celebrate with friends and family in one of our four Cabañas, Glen Ivy Hot Springs is your place to do things that are both good and good for you, which is why we often hear guests say “I just love how I feel when I’m here.”

Clive McNish
Corporate General Manager

Clive has over 20 years dedicated resort, wellness and spa management experience from three different continents. As Corporate General Manager, Clive is responsible for the successful operational set-up and management of GOCO Retreat’s and GOCO Spa’s portfolio. Prior to joining GOCO, Clive served for 4 years at Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary & Holistic Spa, a leading destination spa in Thailand. Clive led the resort in earning the highly esteemed 2014 title of “Destination Spa of the Year, Asia & Australasia” (World Spa Awards) among numerous others. Clive spent two years at the helm of The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Riviera Maya. Before moving to Mandarin Oriental, Clive was the opening Spa Director at the Four Seasons Resort Provence at Terre Blanche. He also served as opening Spa Director at Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire Spa, voted “Best UK Hotel Spa” in 2006 by Conde Nast Traveler during his tenure, and was Acting Director of Spas at the Four Seasons Resorts Bali. Previously, Clive served as Health Club and Spa Manager at Chewton Glen Hotel Spa and Country Club, which, under his leadership, earned several honors including being named “Best British Hotel Spa.”

Scott Whitaker
Director of Operations

Scott Whitaker began his career in hospitality at the age of 19 when he joined the Walt Disney Company, Parks and Resorts Division. He spent 12 years working for the Mouse where he fine-tuned his craft and learned the importance of customer service. His knowledge of the company expanded as he moved through entertainment, stage management, special events coordinator, Emerging Leaders Program, and then management at Disneyland Hotel. California State University, Fullerton is his Alma matter where he studied Business Administration with an emphasis in Entertainment and Tourism Management. After Disney, Scott moved on to Malibu, California to open a 34-room boutique hotel named Calamigos Guest Ranch. He was the opening General Manager who brought the property from construction through to full operation. Once he finished that project, the property had 70 rooms and a beach club on Pacific Coast Highway. He joins the Glen Ivy team with a strong background in customer service and hospitality management. He is excited to bring his knowledge to this property to help it to continue to grow into a world class wellness destination.

Patty Rook, CSS
Director of Spa

With more than thirteen years of experience in the Spa & Wellness Industry, Patty, a proud Member of ISPA as well as a Certified Spa Supervisor,  brings her impressive leadership background and knowledge to her position as the Director of Operations at Glen Ivy Hot Springs. Mrs. Rook is known for consistently delivering results by aligning resources to achieve business goals with substantial improvement of service delivery while also standardizing the performance of Glen Ivy’s operational system.  Patty helped Glen Ivy Hot Springs achieve the ISO 9001:2008 Certification becoming one of the only spas in the country to be ISO 9001 certified.

In this role, Patty oversees daily operations of the Hot Springs and works directly with her staff members ensuring guests receive consistent service and the attention they deserve.  Patty is passionate about Glen Ivy’s core value in that “Our Guests are Our Number One Priority.”  Her goal is for each guest to receive nothing less than top notch service and leaving them longing to return again and again.

Jane Durling, PHR, SHRM-CP
Director of Human Resources

Jane Durling is the Employee Services Manager for Glen Ivy Hot Springs, where her 12 year Human Resources career is distinguished by commended performance and proven results.  Jane is well known and appreciated by Glen Ivy Hot Springs’ 250 employees, where she assists the Leadership team in all departments with sourcing and vetting.  Durling is instrumental in the establishment of many of the company’s employment policies and practices, and has maintained the employee handbook to always reflect the latest legal requirements. She is a competent and ever-calm presence in the midst of any employee issues and situations that arise.

Jane has been central to Glen Ivy’s efforts to be an employer of choice. She’s played a major part in the development and execution of processes for progressive discipline, performance reviews, and workers compensation claims. She manages the company’s HR Information System, and oversees Glen Ivy’s employee benefit programs including health insurance and 401(k) plan. Durling also handles all broker relationships; annual benefits review and package renewals, as well as open enrollment.

Her hospitality background prior to joining Glen Ivy Hot Springs includes a stint at Borobudur Inter-Continental Hotel and Resort in Jakarta as Club Inter-Continental Floor Manager, and Holiday Heathrow London.

Micah Severeid
Executive Chef

Growing up on a cattle ranch in the American West, Chef Micah learned to raise livestock by honing skills in the field and thriving on hearty family meals. His bucolic upbringing in cowboy country – and later in the rustic Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains –nurtured an innately adventurous spirit and appreciation for the celebrated all-American fare of his forefathers.

As a young cook learning on the job from nearly every corner of the kitchen, Chef Micah handily absorbed culinary skills and embraced the artistry of assembling a composed plate. He pursued his ambition to explore global cuisines and learn from world-renowned chefs, such as Alain Ducasse, Hubert Keller and Roy Yamaguchi. From Las Vegas to the Napa Valley and from Utah’s Salt Lake City to California’s Newport Beach, Chef Micah developed a self-proclaimed passion for “cooking food to eat like a king.”

In joining The Resort at Pelican Hill along the Southern California coast, Chef Micah’s inspiration moved from mountains and valleys to the coast and the sea. At the oceanview Coliseum Pool & Grill, gentle sea breezes and warm California sunshine accompany casual al fresco dining for all ages. Chef Micah balances a seasonally inspired all-day menu of nutritious children’s favorites, playful poolside dishes and elevated American cuisine with international influences.

Edward Voysest
Director of Food and Beverage

Edward Voysest is the Director of Food and Beverage at Glen Ivy Hot Springs. Edward is a highly accomplished hospitality professional in the Hotel/Resort, Spa, Private Club, Sports & Entertainment, Restaurant and Casino management industry. He has enjoyed over 20 years of experience as a recognized leader and team builder with strong Food & Beverage management experience.

Edward looks forward to each day with enthusiasm and has a passion for the potential for growth in and improvements at all of the Glen Ivy Hot Springs dining departments.

Edward is highly regarded by colleagues and industry professionals alike and has received a vast array of acknowledgements for his many successes. He is an esteemed member of the Club Managers Association of America and the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
