5 Reasons to Celebrate National Yoga Month at Glen Ivy

September is National Yoga Month and the yoga community is inviting us to celebrate all the feel-good wellness benefits of yoga. While there is much to love about yoga, from the list of well-documented health benefits to the super comfy yoga clothes we run our Saturday morning errands in, for many people the thought of taking a yoga class may seem intimidating.

Especially for newcomers, taking a class—even a free class—can open a Pandora’s box of workout fears. Will I be able to keep up? Will I have to stand on my head? Will I have to chant? I’m not flexible. I’m so out of shape. I have nothing to wear!

Real or perceived, these common misconceptions make it hard for many people to feel invited to the yoga party.

That’s why we’re inviting you out to Glen Ivy during September to celebrate Yoga Month with us! We take away all the fearful stumbling blocks to yoga, and offer classes that are safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Whether you are a newbie or an experienced yogi, here are 5 feel-good reasons why the hot springs is the perfect place to get your yoga feet wet:

  1. Our yoga studio is outdoors. Practicing yoga beneath historic palm trees and soaring red-tailed hawks marries the healing powers of yoga with nature. An added benefit—no anxiety producing mirrors!
  2. All levels welcome. Just how the hot springs welcomes every “body,” our yoga classes include both newcomers and experienced yoga enthusiasts. We encourage you to practice at your own pace, and provide modifications and cueing to keep the class safe and comfortable.
  3. Come as you are. No worries about what to wear. While some guests prefer to pack their favorite yoga wear, most practice in bathing suits or a light cover up.
  4. No equipment required. We make it easy to join in by providing all the necessary equipment including yoga mats, straps, and blocks.
  5. Aqua Yoga! Where else can you plunge a yoga class into thousands of gallons of warm, buoyant water? Our Joy Fitness Aqua Yoga class provides the perfect healing environment for people with joint concerns or chronic pain. Yoga never felt so good!

You don’t need to feel like a yoga outsider anymore! Glen Ivy is the perfect place to set aside your fears of headstands and mantra chanting, and step onto your mat to enjoy all the benefits yoga has to offer.

Make sure to check the activities calendar available on our website for dates and times of all our yoga and wellness offerings.

We look forward to seeing you this month!
