2012 Intentions Into Actions Contest
Share your New Year’s Intentions and
Enter to WIN a Day at Glen Ivy Hot Springs
As we say goodbye to 2011 and welcome in 2012, many of us like to take this time to reflect on little (or big) ways that we can make this upcoming year a little better. Whether it’s quitting a bad habit or taking up a new hobby, challenging yourself to stick to a resolution can be difficult so we are here to help with our annual “Intentions into Actions” contest. We’ve made it easy to enter, and think you may find hearing what your fellow spa goers are aspiring towards may offer inspiration and support to your own journey. In case you need a little inspiration, here are a few of our favorites from last year:
- To care for others, the way others took care of me when I was stressed out.
- This year I am going to put my health first.
- I am going to move my focus onto the positive of every situation, and pick my battles.
- I am going to keep a journal, because writing this down right now has made things seem clearer.
- This year, I intend to entertain more and invite friends over… as well continue to make new friendships
How to Enter
Share your intention with us right here on our blog by leaving a comment on this post before January 9, 2012. Make sure to tell us your resolution, why it’s important to you and how we can help you keep it all year long.
The Prize
We will randomly select three lucky winners who will each win a pair of complimentary admissions to Glen Ivy Hot Springs. A day at the Spa can be a great incentive or reward and can help make putting your intentions into action a little easier. Winners will be announced the following week.

I am a struggling student and unemployed and there are times were I feel like the world is coming to an end. I want to learn to appreciate what I have rather stressing myself about what I don’t have. Not being able to find employment has interfered with my confidence as well but I have managed to keep my health stable as well as my bills. I want to focus on myself more and my education. Glen Ivy helps me feel relaxed and analyze what I have in life.
I plan to give more to those less fortunate this year. There are a number of organizations that are doing a lot of good for people around the world. I am especially partial to those that help children. Having four children of my own it breaks my heart to know babies and children suffer from malnutrition or no medical care.
For me, 2012 is a year of gratitude, acceptance, simplicity, wellness, love, nature, travel and fun. I’d love to experience Glen Ivy again with my friends to unwind, rejuvenate, laugh, eat and play.
My intention this year is to live in the moment and enjoy my journey as a new mother. Having to move to a new city, leave my job and become a mom has been difficult, but I intent to be happy to help my baby be happy.
My intentions this year are to (1) live in the moment for my baby (as a new mom is a most), (2) connect with people (since I’m in a new city and I’m away from my family), and (3) Become a better/healthier cook.
This year I have made a promise to myself to plug energy leaks in my life, to pour out more of myself to my family first with love and encouragement. To become Spiritually filled so that I can give more to others and to take better care of my body healing and health from the inside and out.
My intentions are to love more…to serve others more…to excercise more…and to visit Glen Ivy more!
Last year my resolution was to begin a Chronic Illness support group for college students. I am happy to say that this resolution came to fruition. My resolution this year is to continue the positive synergy of the Chronic Illness Group (CIG). I want to show the participants by example how to live a healthy balanced life. I am coordinating marketing, speakers, presentations and a day at Glen Ivy (if I can find the funding). We have a good start to our group (about ten people) with more who are interested. I look forward to more college students joining the group. I look forward to working hard to make the group grow, learn, and foster a path of balance. I resolve to teach the participants healthy ways to live with a chronic illness. Thank you Glen Ivy!!
I am a mother of a sweet but very active 5 year old.. I have been working on my spiritual life for 9 years. First in an ashram then married.
As a past career person I used to “take time out ” all the time to just detox but since I’ve been on this path I have neglected my body in many ways.
This year I’m not only trying to shed a chunk of pounds but I’m trying to get back into Yoga for my body. To pay attention to my own temple and get it back to a healthy working condition.
I love Glen Ivy but don’t have the funds to retreat there as I used to like to visit.
It’s a “hey why not” by telling a tiny sliver of my story. Thanks and no matter what this new year I am striving to come to Glen Ivy come Hell or High water. lol Many well wishes, LengleLalita
I want to be thankful for the things I have. Not the things I don’t. Continue to enjoy life in simple ways. Cherish my family and friends. Most of all relax more!!! My job is very demanding so that will be a challenge.
My resolution this year is a whole family resolution. To look forward and not back, to be healthy, happy and together. We sometimes forget how dear family is and this year is all about family.
