We have received lots of response to the second week of the August Challenge and hope you will give some of these great ideas a try. Soaking in warm water, whether whirlpool bath, tub or shower was a favorite this week, often enhanced by adding relaxing music. The sentiment of many of your messages is that you realize and appreciate your value and the benefit of caring for yourself in these ways.
We are thrilled with the results and want to share a small sampling of what we received to inspire you:
This is something I enjoy immensely and always rejuvenates me for the rest of my day. I wait for the afternoon sun around 3-4 and find a spot in my home or where ever I am. I close my eyes and either sit or lay down in the sunlight. The feeling is amazing. The warmth on your body plus having your eyes shut, really allows you to get recharged. I also read that it’s good to find times during the day to get the vitamin D you need. As so many of us work in doors and don’t get enough sunlight. I recommend everyone try this. —Tamara A.
Spent time in the pool with my kids and enjoyed their company. Spending time with my kids is very important to me, I have overcome needing to have a absolutely clean house and using that time to enjoy their company with out any pressures of “having to do.” —Mariell N.
Having a background in psychology I understand the importance of self care. I know it’s important to time quiet time everyday if possible!! I take 10-20 minutes a day of time to relax and destress. My favorite thing to do are to take a nice hot bubble bath, even better when I have a good book to read! In addition to this 10 mins of deep breathing a day will do wonders for ones stress level! — Sharon C.
Mine was spent outside walking. Enjoy the fresh air and sunshine! It did wonders for me. — Sher H.
I park at the end of the parking lot and usually use the stairs at work throughout the day. I walk the dog at least 3 days per week and also swim twice a week. —Yolanda H.
I love being and eating healthy so to add another 10 min. A day of that sounds amazing! I love laying out in my backyard soaking up the sun picturing this… —Erika C.
I soak in the tub with a book and a large glass of water. It’s my relaxation and decompression time and I take a huge glass of water so I can catch up on my water intake for the day. I try to soak, even if only for a short time 4 times a week. —Cynthia J
Go for a walk and take pictures of random things that catch your eye, do stretches, plant something (flowers or a mini garden) and water it daily to watch it grow. —Jessica F.
M- walked with a friend
T- performed a few sun salutations (Yoga)
W- walked by myself
Th.- indulged in a cupcake

This week I am feeling healthy, strong, and confident. I joined a weight loss competition (!!!), attended Harvest Crusade, and focused on healthier, more relaxing activities. Monday: took a break from work & went for a walk, Wednesday:sat outside, brushed the dog & enjoyed the breeze.—Kristin H.
