Celebrating Service In July at Glen Ivy

Glen Ivy Day Spa Brea and Valencia are celebrating the men and women who commit their lives to bettering ours. Throughout the month of July we’re  happy to offer a Complimentary Service Enhancement on any full spa treatment (50 minutes or longer) to Nurses, Firefighters, Police, Teachers, and Military Personnel. Simply show valid ID and work badge at check-in to receive your free upgrade.

Glen Ivy Hot Springs, Corona is jumping in on the festivities this 4th of July with the Stars and Stripes Package. This package (available on Monday, July 4, 2011 only) was specifically created for you and your friends to celebrate freedom and friendship together. Enjoy two for one admission at the weekday rate, two Grotto Body Treatments and lunch for two at award-winning Cafe Sole for just $126 (can’t beat a $56 savings!).  So grab a friend and head on over to the Hot Springs to celebrate your independence (who knows, maybe a trip to the spa will become a new 4th of July tradition)!

If you can’t make it on the 4th, don’t forget that the Hot Springs offers 15% off spa admission for military, police, firefighters, nurses and teachers with valid identification.

However you choose to celebrate Independence Day, all of us from Glen Ivy wish you a safe and fun holiday!

do social workers get the 15% discount too?

  2. Amy Orgliano says:

It would be WONDERFUL if you would offer discounts to other groups like you do with the military, nurses, etc. Groups like moms, hospital personnel & volunteers (not just nurses), etc. would love special discounts once in awhile and would definitely bring you more business! Thanks for your time.

  3. jann says:

social workers are special folks as well

  4. toyia says:

I think that it is awesome that you recognize all of the amazing individuals that dedicate their lives to service; I wondered why Social Workers are not included in the above laundry list of those who serve?

  5. Juli Streeter says:

Not that I don’t appreciate your special reach-out to the teachers, police, fire, etc. but in all due respect, i fail to understand why their chosen carreer paths offer them opportunities over and above average middle class workers, like me, who work two jobs as a single parent in efforts to support my three school age children. And PS — I don’t have any special perks like a fancy retirement fund or an extraordinary health and benefits package to backstop me in the event of injury or provide for my children in the event of my death. How about a special day for us??!?

  6. Ashlee says:

What about Physical Therapist? I like the idea of all hospital workers!

  7. Frankie says:

What about social workers? We cover a wide range of people that we help from homeless individuals, to domestic violence survivors, to children. Get with the program guys. Social workers make a lot less money than those that you recognize and don’t receive a lot of the free benefits like the military (i.e. health care).

  8. Carol Pederson says:

Yeah, hospital social workers too! We are elbow to elbow with nurses and doctors when the going gets tough!

  9. Valentina says:

Let’s not forget those who have served – the Veterans as well.

  10. Becky says:

Do you include police and fire 911 dispatchers or just the officer and firefighters?

  11. Jeana says:

Wow, everyone is pretty angry and missing the point. Firemen put their lives on the line to stop fires from taking peoples’ homes. Cops and military personnel get shot at to uphold the morals and values of our society. Teachers and Nurses dedicate their lives to the service of others. Teachers and Nurses go to school and give up many years (and much money, time with friends and family, high levels of stress) of their lives to educating themselves on how they can be of use to society. You know when you have the day off to celebrate Christmas with your friends and family a Nurse is spending 12hours cleaning poo, running a code, administering medications, and changing wound dressings? Perhaps, we can just take a minute to be thankful about our blessings and not pay so much attention to our perceived short comings. It’s not that other occupations are not appreciated, it’s that these ones are being appreciated today.

  12. GG says:

Stay at home moms should be recognized for all the work they do. I’m not a stay at home mom but I know how hard they work to maintain the home, shuttle the children back and forth, run errands, clean, shop, sacrifice etc. and seldom do they take time out for themselves. It’s good that you honor people but others should be included. I work as a training coordinator in mental health and I feel that along with others should be acknowledged. I work with a lot of social workers so please consider them too.

Thanks to everyone for their comments, we always welcome them.

Celebrating Service is just one of many ways that we at Glen Ivy work to stay connected and show appreciation within the community. There are so many that make a difference everyday whether through their career, community or family. This event is not about excluding other valued services.

We hope you can join us in saying thanks and know that every guest is important to us. Each month Glen Ivy features treatment specials that offer new experiences, value added or discounts, to make your spa visit the best it can be and more affordable. See the specials here on our website: http://www.glenivy.com/specials/

What about Social Workers? YOU did not answer the question as to why some people are given discounts and some or not?

  15. Diana says:

Move to Corona, and you will always get a 15% off on your admission.

  16. sandra witt says:

we are coming for the day on 7/9/11 do you have any specials for this day and or special events planned for Corona spa?

  17. Debbie says:

I agree with Jeanna, people are missing the point. I think it is great that Glen Ivy is offering this special. Maybe they will consider other occupations at a different time, but for now they want to honor these people. I think it’s a great idea. The people in these occupations put up with a lot and sacrifice a lot and it’s great to see them recognized. Great job Glen Ivy!!!

  19. Kathleen says:

Thank You Glen Ivy for all of your special discounts all year round! Everyone, no matter what your occupation gets in free on their bday! Everyone should be thankful for any token of appreciation from any business and not complain when someone else gets a little special treat!

  20. Jay says:

Who stays at home and takes care of kids these days? It must be a rich family because nobody else can afford to not work and just take care of kids…both partners work and take care of home responsibilities these days…leave it to beaver days are long gone…stay at home mommies are from affluent homes and should be charged extra…
