Summer is Here: Insider Tips for a Great Spa Day

While every season offers a unique experience at the Hot Springs, the warm summer days are the most popular with our guests. Always a favorite place to enjoy friends, celebrate special people and occasions, or have a mini staycation, whatever brings you to the Spa, we want you to know that delivering the quality spa experience you expect is our priority. On the most popular days, such as weekends and holidays, we often reach our maximum guest count and are not able to accommodate everyone, sometimes having to turn people away. To avoid disappointment, and for the best experience, we encourage a little advance planning and offer these insider tips for enjoying a great spa day at the Hot Springs in Corona!

Yoga on the front lawn at Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa, Corona, CA

Tip #1: Arrive with plenty of time before your treatment so you aren’t feeling rushed.
Insider suggestions:

  • Many choose to start their day at the spa early so our front desk staff is busiest in the morning between 9:30 – 11 am.  We take care to provide each guest with an individual welcome and attention, which means it will usually take more than just a few minutes per person to get checked in.  We promise you’ll appreciate the personalized attention when it’s your turn one-on-one with our staff. If your appointments aren’t until the afternoon, plan on arriving a bit later to avoid line ups, or bring a book or magazine to enjoy while waiting.
  • Arrive just in time to participate in one of our programs before checking in such as Yoga, Pilates, or a Guided Labyrinth Walk on the front lawn – see all Events and Activities schedule.

Tip #2: Expect a wait time to enter the Spa and also within at popular attractions such as the mineral baths and Café Solé.
Insider suggestions:

  • It’s a day at the Spa – you’re here to relax and have fun so use any wait time to delight in the joy of each other’s company, reflect on memories and share stories together.
  • Complimentary lockers in the Bath House also become full quickly on busier days so we recommend packing light and sharing when possible.
  • Café Solé is busiest through typical lunch hour, so consider planning your meals earlier or later in the day. Other options include the new Sunflower Sushi and tasty snacks available from the poolside Paradise Bar.
  • When calling to make your appointments, ask for the availability of reserved lounge chairs in Club Solé, Paradise Falls or semi-private Cabañas for you and your group (rates vary).
  • At the end of the day, the locker room in the Bath House is also busy as guests prepare to leave Glen Ivy.  If you’re heading somewhere after your day at the spa and want to shower, change and get ready, plan to do so in the early afternoon before the rush, which usually begins an hour prior to closing.

Tip #3: Choose to come on weekdays, which are usually less popular than weekends.
Insider suggestions:

  • Make arrangements and appointments to visit Glen Ivy Hot Springs on weekdays and you can also take advantage of savings on admission and special packages like The Weekday Getaway which includes everything you need for a full day: Spa Admission, a 50 minute Swedish Massage OR 50 minute Glen Ivy Facial, Grotto Admission, and lunch! Available Monday-Thursday (excluding holidays) for just $160.

Tip #4: Make reservations up to 6 weeks in advance.
Insider suggestions:

  • While same day appointments are sometimes available, summer schedules fill up quickly. To ensure you get the treatments that you are hoping for, at your preferred time, we recommend you call for reservations as soon as you know which day you want to visit. Central reservation agents can assist you in selecting the right treatments for you at any Glen Ivy Spa. Please call  1.888.GLEN IVY (1.888.453.6489) between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm.
  • If you’d like to make arrangements for a Together Massage with your favorite person, or Under the Oaks, do so well in advance, as these special rooms are limited in availability. Please note that The Grotto now also requires reservations.
  • On our busiest days when we reach maximum guest count, guests with pre-booked treatment appointments are guaranteed admission to the Hot Springs.

Tip #5: Be Green at Glen Ivy

  • Bring your own beach towel to use throughout the day – this will help preserve our laundry water usage, plus you’ll know which towel/chair is yours when you come out of the pool.
  • Bring a reusable water bottle – just be sure it’s not glass.  Use a stainless steel or plastic reusable bottle or tumbler to fill up with our delicious pure Glen Ivy Well Water to stay hydrated and reduce trash.
  • Try The Grotto, where you’ll be painted green from head-to-toe with a light green body moisturizing mask.  Great for the skin and fun with friends! Reservations required, call 888-GLEN IVY.
  • Connect with nature by picking up our free Bird List or learn about the hundreds of species of plants in one of our popular Botanical Tours led by our Landscaping & Sustainability Team.

As always, our team is driven by your praise and love for Glen Ivy and we thank you for your continued support.  Looking forward to welcoming you to Glen Ivy soon!

Warm Water Wishes,

We are continuously working towards speeding up the check-in process. Effective June 11 we will be opening 1 hour earlier (at 8:30am) to allow more time for people to check in which will hopefully cut down on the time spent in line.

  2. Christiana says:

Do you guys still allow free admission on birthdays? I also read about a buy one get a friend in free promo?

  3. Meghann says:

Hi Christiana! For the remainder of 2011 our guests receive complimentary admission when they visit us on their exact birthday. Just make sure to bring in a valid photo ID that contains a birth date on it and you’ll be set for the day. Currently we are not running a promotion where you buy one admission and get another free. We have had similar promotions in the past but are not offering one at the moment.

  4. Dianna Jimenez says:

    Hello,

Just to confirm it is free admission on birthday with proper ID correct?

  5. Meghann says:

Hi Dianna! Yes, for the remainder of 2011 when you visit us on your exact birthday and bring in a photo ID that contains a birth date, you receive free admission for the day.

  6. Meghann says:

Hi Everyone, the summer months is our busiest time here at the Hot Springs which can make the check in process take a little longer than normal. Our busiest time of the day for check in is from 9:30am to about 11am so we encourage our guests to get here as early as possible to avoid a line.

  7. Brittany says:

    Meghann,
Hi! I am an intern teacher in Moreno Valley (with staff ID), will I qualify for the discount?

  8. Cyndee says:

My friends and I are planning on booking the grotto fir aug will this guarantee our admission if capacity is met?

  9. Sandy Jenkins says:

I am bringing a group of 12 ladies for a spa day. For many of them this will be their first time at Glen Ivy…should we reserve an area for all of us? I dont want to have to wait either for an hour in line. They wont be happy about it.

  10. Donna says:

Why don’t you allow people to purchase admission online where they can bring a printout with a barcode that can be quickly scanned so people can enter the spa faster? That would seem to solve a lot of your problem. We waited in the sweltering heat for nearly an hour last time and it was not fun.

  11. Linda says:

We went last week, and it was very busy, very loud. Hard to relax when people are yelling and acting like it’s a party. Many people come to Glen Ivy to relax, but that is impossible these days.
Also, the mineral baths are not relaxing with so many people being loud when others are trying to relax. There should be a mineral baths area that is just for quiet time. the other quiet area has so much chlorine in the spa, made our skin burn. Also, when are the towels going to be upgraded, they are so small and rough. As for the lines, set up a cash tables so the lines will move quicker.

    Hi Sandy,
When visiting with a group that size I would recommend you reserve the Citrus Cabana. This offers shaded seating and dining areas, lounges for relaxing in the sun, and use of the Terrace Spa. Lots of comfortable space and privacy for visiting. Read more here http://www.glenivy.com/springs/plan-your-day/cabanas

For more information or to book a Cabaña, please call Georgia, Glen Ivy’s Cabaña & Group Sales Coordinator, at (951) 277-3529 ext. 1309.

I am planning to have 10 women going to the springs spa day. We live in Palmdale. What time do you recommend for us to leave to get to the spa? Also is the end of September typically a busy time for the springs?

  14. Meghann says:

Hi Cara! We always recommend that you arrive as close to our opening time as possible so that you have the entire to day to enjoy and take advantage of the facilities. We generally see fewer guests as we enter our cool season so at the end of September we shouldn’t be as busy as we are during our summer months. Please let me know if you have any other questions!

  15. Nicole says:

Hi, I am planning on coming to Glen Ivy for the first part of my bachelorette party on Sept 24th. There will be 6 or 7 of us total. I was planning on getting there around 11pm is that too late? we don’t want to have any spa services we just want to lounge around and lay out in the sun.

  16. Helen says:

Hi Cara, I’ll be visiting from the East Coast in early Oct, what specials do you have for that month, also, will you have the 2 for 1 special. thanks

  17. Meghann says:

Hi Nicole! We recommend that you arrive as early as possible to avoid any chance that there may be a small admission line. We generally see the majority of our guests arrive between 10-11:30am so it can get pretty busy. Also, since you will be spending your day lounging, you have a better chance of getting a group of lounge chairs to fit your party if you arrive early. Hope you have a great visit!

  18. Meghann says:

Hi Helen! We just posted our specials for October and there’s some great treatments and packages including our “Better Together Package” created for two people. Head to our Specials page for more info!

  19. Stephanie says:

It sounds like it is becoming more like a social gathering and getting loud there. What are you doing to make sure Glen Ivy maintaines its relaxing get-a-way for those of us that want to relax? My husband and I are thinking about visiting for our first anniversary in November. We have a 4 month old and are trying to get away from the noise not head toward it.

  20. Meghann says:

    Hi Stephanie,
As we enter our cooler months we are seeing a decrease in our guest count which means that the spa is generally a quieter, less crowded place. Our “Insider Tips” are more geared towards those visiting on a busy summer day. If you are planning to visit in November, it is a much different atmosphere then if you visited in our busy warm season. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

  21. Jamie says:

Hey! I have planned a bachelorette party to go to Glen Ivy on Fri for the day and I was wondering if it is to late to make appointments for massages and such? We were thinking about using the Grotto and also some would like massages.

  22. glenivyadmin says:

    Hi Jamie,
Please call our Central Reservations at 888.GLEN IVY to check treatment availability and help planning your day. Have a fabulous, fun time!

  23. Paisley says:

    Hi,

I am flying out from the east coast in Early dec (Dec 2) and plan to come to Glen Ivy that Saturday. Do you have schedules and such for that time period?

I am really excited and looking forward to coming–I also read you give a discount to nurses? Do I need to bring my licence?

    Thank You

    Paisley

  24. Meghann says:

    Hi Paisley!
You can definitely call our Central Reservations at 888.GLEN IVY and they would be happy to make any appointments for you for December as our schedules are available. We do indeed give a 15% discount on daily admission for nurses when you bring in a valid photo ID or badge. Please let me know if you have any other questions about your upcoming visit!

  25. Katie says:

    Hello,

I will be visiting Glen Ivy on Sunday Oct. 16th and I have a question about your discount for nurses.

I recently graduated a nursing program, took my exam, passed and I submitted my payment for my actual license today. It takes 3-4 weeks to process and receive your license, so I don’t think I will have my actual license by the 16th. Can I still get the discount if I bring my letter from the Board of Nursing stating that I officially passed?

    Thanks,
    Katie

  26. Meghann says:

    Hi Katie!

Yes if you bring in your letter from the Board of Nursing along with a valid photo ID that will work so that you can receive your discount. Congratulations on passing and enjoy your visit!
