Connect with Nature
Glen Ivy’s April Challenge:
Building a Stronger Relationship with Mother Nature
Yes, spring is here, the time of “new beginnings” and the overwhelming desire to be out doors immersing ourselves in the natural beauty that Southern California is so noted for. It is also the month that we celebrate Earth Day. Since its beginning in 1970, so many of the values that seemed to be “far out” then have long been our daily practice here at the Spa—working together as stewards of the land to make the planet a healthier, happier place and respecting nature’s gifts and the resources around us.
Because connecting to nature is central to living a spa lifestyle, we are devoting the April Challenge to finding ways we can build a stronger relationship with nature—for ourselves and for our planet. We believe that when you engage with nature in ways that make you feel good, you will be more likely to return that favor to nature as well. (When you think about it, it’s a win win situation!) Nature can fill us with wonder and inspire us with her beauty, lift our spirits, provide us with nourishment, and space to move our bodies in recreation and exercise. Spending time in nature can also become a catalyst for an inner journey, reducing stress, calming the mind and soothing the spirit. Each day this month will bring an opportunity for you to find and deepen your personal connection to nature as well as raise your awareness to the greater world around you.
Not sure where to start? Here are 22 Ways to Connect with Nature we think you might enjoy, try one each day as we count down to Earth Day on Friday April 22. Download our Challenge Idea Board pdf and hang it in your office, or at home, or in your phone—anywhere that you might need to check in for some daily inspiration.
