Making a Difference: Chule Day at Glen Ivy

How you can celebrate the 6th Annual Chule Day with Glen Ivy Spa this Sunday and all month long!

“No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted.” -Aesop

Glen Ivy Hot Springs opened its doors 150 years ago to those seeking health, healing waters, and a deeper sense of well being. People journeyed from all over California and across America to spend time alone or with friends—time together elevating spirits in this magical place beneath the Santa Ana Mountain Range. Every so often we come to know long time guests who find a special place in the hearts of our staff and the greater Glen Ivy community. Dimitri and Vera Chule are two such individuals who have been coming to the Hot Springs since 1968 . With each visit they touch and inspire staff and guests alike, kindling the values of kindness and generosity. In so many ways their 43 -year presence here at the Hot Springs has embodied the true spirit of what spa really means—and in so many way defines Glen Ivy. It is a quality that resonates in the relationship one has with oneself, one’s family, and with the greater community around us… a quality that transcends cultures and borders. It is for this reason that six years ago, we created Chule Day — a special day in April where we honor these timeless values and the Chule’s gift to what has become part of the Glen Ivy legacy.

The way we celebrate Chule Day is to follow Dimitri and Vera’s example of giving back to our community. In the past we have collected donations of food and clothing for our local charities, but this year we can think of no greater need than to come to the aid of the families and survivors recovering in Japan. And, because April is Stress Awareness Month, we have aligned Chule Day in a way that when you take the time to heal yourself it will be with the piece of mind knowing that you are also taking time to heal the greater global community.

For the month of April Glen Ivy will donate $5  from every Stress Reliever Massage to the Red Cross relief efforts.

Please reserve your treatment time at any of our Spas by calling 888 GLEN IVY.

And if you don’t have time to visit us this month, we hope that you follow the example of Dimitri and Vera and find simple ways to practice random acts of kindness this month… if you need a hint, we like the 70 tips for Random Kindness Bukisa posted this last February.

We would love to hear how your actions are received, and how they make you feel. Please share your stories here on the Blog or with us on Facebook.
