Participate in Cell Phones for Soldiers
This 4th of July weekend join us at all Glen Ivy locations as we become official donation spots for an amazing non-profit organization—Cell Phones for Soldiers!
Wondering how Cell Phones for Soldiers operates? Old cell phones are donated at collection sites (like Glen Ivy) and C.P.F.S sells them to a cell phone recycling company called “ReCellular.” This company takes the re-usable parts of the old cell phones and recycles the rest of the materials which is a much better alternative than simply leaving them in a landfill where the nasty chemicals leak out of the cell phone and into our fragile groundwater, destroying our environment.
ReCellular pays C.P.F.S. for every phone they provide and then C.P.F.S. turns around and uses the proceeds to purchase calling cards and cell phones that they then gift to the troops overseas so that they can call their family and friends back home.
In an effort to support the troops and protect the environment, Glen Ivy Hot Springs in Corona along with Glen Ivy Day Spas in Brea and Valencia will now be year round donation spots for both guests and employees (so don’t worry if you can’t make it this weekend)! On your next visit, just grab you old cell phone and head on over!
Hopefully we’ll be seeing you all this weekend and together we can help make much-needed connections between families and their loved ones overseas! For more information on Cell Phones for Soldiers click here.
